The theme was: The Great Machine. I sort of went for a rhetoric on mental health, with society being 'The Great Machine'.
If your demons destroy you, you lose.
If you use your health to destroy your demons, you win.
If you outrun your demons, you win.

It's not that much fun.
When we die, when we press the arrow keys the sound continues to play.
And sometimes you can't start over by pressing enter so you have to restart the game.
Moreover, it happens that it replay a part almost on its own.
The collision against a wall can become blocking and stop the player.
And then, it's pretty easy and short. But the effect of the light torch and blinking shadow, as well as the changing levels are a good idea.
I verymuch agree with all of your critiques, i had about an hour and a half to sort out game play after i finished making it look nice lol. All completed in 3 days. The collisions are pretty shit and there's some awful bugs involving the game state.
